It only took us 6 1/2 years of being married but this year we finally got our first Christmas tree! We're never at our own home for Christmas so we've never really wanted to get one. This year we're going to be here until the 23rd so I talked Aaron into getting one. It's only about 3 1/2 feet tall but I love it. We put it up on our end-table so it's out of little Blake's reach. ((he is crawling all over now and is already pulling himself up on furniture)) And I talked Aaron into putting up some lights outside for FHE tomorrow. Yay!Sorry for the blurry picture!
thankful things:
1- Ellensburg---We went over to the West side to do our Christmas shopping on Saturday and being over there with all of the heavy traffic and lots, and lots and LOTS of people, it really made me grateful for our wonderful little town of Ellensburg and all of our four-way stops.
2- My kids-- They were SO good while we were shopping. We left my parents house around 9:30 and didn't get to Aaron's parents' until almost 6. For not having naps and being in carts and strollers all day they acted really good. I only had to threaten their lives a few times. ;)
3- Aaron-- He is a traditionalist--in that he loves the traditions of each holiday. He loves doing the things that he grew-up doing and wants his kids to experience them and love them as he does. It can be a tiny bit frustrating at times, but if you don't have traditions then you really don't have anything....anything to look forward to, to pass on to your kids, to tell stories about. Traditions are great.

I like how you changed your blog. And I love your cute tree! Ours is decorated up high this year. Dana is bad enough, but the older kids are actually climbing onto stepstools and piano benches to reach higher. UUUUGHGHG!!
