I've been merrily enjoying my time with the kids at home until the older two begin their servitude in the public school system sometime next week.
Mr. Smith is full steam ahead in teaching the Future of America. He is going to be working late Wednesday and Thursday, and so he sent me away to the west side for a few days to visit family. But most importantly to hunt and gather blackberries.
Last year we missed out and we vowed to not make that mistake again.
Tomorrow will hopefully be filled with stained fingers, scratches on arms, and probably some whiny kids. "No, we're not done picking blackberries! Now keep picking 'til your fingers bleed!"
I'm a nice mommy. Why do you ask?

have fun ~ the blackberries don't seem fab this year...
am I wrong in thinking that we're only having these kids to eventually take over all manual labor around the house?? We're just training them in their youth. ;-)
