all over the place

Last week we had the kids Christmas programs at their elementary school. Each grade gets about 20 minutes to sing their little hearts out. The music lady here does a really great job of singing actual Christmas songs about baby Jesus and throws in some Hanukkah songs for good measure. Not just songs about snow and reindeer. It's awesome.

Sunday we decided that we needed to put together some sort of Christmas card to send out to family and friends. So we had a impromptu picture taking session after church that lasted all of 10 minutes.

Yesterday I was in kitchen baking up a storm, putting together goodie plates. I guess it actually started Tuesday night. Mr. Smith signed up to bring a dessert to school for their teacher potluck and Lily had signed up to bring cookies for her class Christmas party. I killed three birds with one stone and cut out the sugar cookies into smaller circles and only had to make one batch of those lovelies.
At each house, the kids got out and sang "We wish you a Merry Christmas". Hustling them back into the van at our last stop, I slammed my fingers in the van door. It's kind of a funny thing to be looking at your hand stuck in the shut sliding door.

Today we are getting things together to head over to the parents this weekend. We kinda sorta wait to do any real Christmas shopping 'til we're over there where we can knock it out and get done in a couple hours. Does it even seem like it's almost Christmas? That 2012 is almost over?

Tomorrow evening we're going to see The Hobbit. And not just in any ol' run-of-the-mill ((what does that even mean?)) theater. We're going to see it at the Cinerama in Seattle. In 3D. I'm pretty excited. They have a ginormous screen. Many years ago, they were showing Lawrence of Arabia. We went with my dad and Aaron's dad. It was the coolest thing.

And now I submit to you, "Three Bums in a Tub".
